The US envoy to Afghanistan will return to Doha next week to meet with the Taliban Foreign Ministry

WASHINGTON, November 23 (Reuters) – US Special Representative for Afghanistan Tom West will visit Doha next week for two weeks of talks with Taliban leaders, Foreign Ministry spokesman Ned Price said on Tuesday.

“They will discuss … our vital national interests when it comes to Afghanistan,” Price said. “It includes counter-terrorism, which includes safe passage for American citizens and for Afghans, to whom we have a special obligation, and it includes humanitarian aid and the economic situation of the country.”
