“Hang in there”: Australia’s fight to save Afghanistan’s family from the Taliban

The family, known as the “Karate Family”, were able to enter Kabul airport on the afternoon of August 25th. They went to the high school that turned into an Australian camp, where they were cleared at a medical clinic and armed with a letter confirming that an application for an offshore visa had been filed on their behalf, had their names checked and hands stamped for travel.
